The Story Behind Diada

Diada was born from two passions that have shaped both my professional and personal life: supporting emotional wellbeing and understanding the importance of the early years.

As a psychologist, I spent more than nine years working with adolescents and adults in Mexico. Through my clinical work, I saw first-hand how our earliest relationships can shape the way we experience ourselves, others and the world around us. Time and again, I witnessed the lasting impact that early attachment and emotional bonds can have throughout a person’s life.

At the same time, I worked as an Early Childhood Education Coordinator in an early stimulation centre, where I became fascinated by the incredible development that takes place during the first years of life. The more I learned, the more I realised how important these early experiences are in building strong foundations for emotional, social and cognitive development.

My interest in early childhood continued during my Master’s degree in Education. For my dissertation, I developed and delivered a psychoeducational workshop on postpartum depression, raising awareness of a topic that often remains hidden, despite affecting so many families. This experience deepened my understanding of the challenges parents can face during the transition to parenthood and reinforced my desire to support families from the very beginning.

Then came another life-changing experience: becoming a mother.

Like many parents, I found myself navigating the uncertainty of parenthood while trying to support my daughter’s development and wellbeing. During the pandemic, I created an Instagram account to share simple activities, ideas and resources that parents could use at home with their children. What started as a small project quickly became a way to connect with and support families looking for guidance, reassurance and community.

And that is how Diada was born.

Three years ago, I moved to Manchester and began working in nurseries and early years settings. During this time, I developed a particular interest in different educational approaches and in the importance of creating an environment that supports children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

Diada has grown from a desire to support families during the earliest stages of their journey. It is built on the belief that there is no such thing as a perfect parent, that every baby is unique, and that bonding is not always as straightforward as we might imagine.

Relationships take time, understanding and space to grow.

And sometimes, what parents need most is simply to know that they are not alone.
